7:40. ഇവർ എല്ലാവരും ആശേരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായി പിതൃഭവനങ്ങൾക്കു തലവന്മാരും ശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാരും പരാക്രമശാലികളും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരിൽ പ്രധാനികളും ആയിരുന്നു. വംശാവലിപ്രകാരം യുദ്ധസേവെക്കു പ്രാപ്തന്മാരായി എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ സംഖ്യ ഇരുപത്താറായിരം തന്നേ.

7:40. All these were the descendants of Asher. They were the leaders of their families, the most capable men, who were warriors and served as head chiefs. There were 26,000 warriors listed in their genealogical records as capable of doing battle.

7:40. Each of these descendants of Asher was the head of an ancestral clan. They were all select men-- mighty warriors and outstanding leaders. The total number of men available for military service was 26,000, as listed in their genealogical records.
