3:2. യോസാദാക്കിന്റെ മകനായ യേശുവയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശെയൽതീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെരുബ്ബാബേലും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും എഴുന്നേറ്റു ദൈവപുരുഷനായ മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ യാഗപീഠം പണിതു.

3:2. Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak and his priestly colleagues and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and his colleagues started to build the altar of the God of Israel so they could offer burnt offerings on it as required by the law of Moses the man of God.

3:2. Then Jeshua son of Jehozadak joined his fellow priests and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel with his family in rebuilding the altar of the God of Israel. They wanted to sacrifice burnt offerings on it, as instructed in the Law of Moses, the man of God.

3:2. Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt-offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

They built the altar of the God of Israel so that they could offer sacrifices on it. They built it just as it says in the Law of Moses. Moses was God's special servant.
