5:2. അവൻ അതിന്നു വേലി കെട്ടി, അതിലെ കല്ലു പെറുക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു, അതിൽ നല്ലവക മുന്തിരിവള്ളി നട്ടു, നടുവിൽ ഒരു ഗോപുരം പണിതു, ഒരു ചക്കും ഇട്ടു, മുന്തിരിങ്ങ കായക്കും എന്നു അവൻ കാത്തിരുന്നു; കായിച്ചതോ കാട്ടുമുന്തിരിങ്ങയത്രേ.

5:2. He built a hedge around it, removed its stones, and planted a vine. He built a tower in the middle of it, and constructed a winepress. He waited for it to produce edible grapes, but it produced sour ones instead.

5:2. He plowed the land, cleared its stones, and planted it with the best vines. In the middle he built a watchtower and carved a winepress in the nearby rocks. Then he waited for a harvest of sweet grapes, but the grapes that grew were bitter.

5:2. and he digged it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also hewed out a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
