1:11. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: എദോമിന്റെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം, അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരനെ വാളോടുകൂടെ പിന്തുടർന്നു, തന്റെ കോപം സദാകാലം കടിച്ചുകീറുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം സഹതാപം വിട്ടുകളകയും ദ്വേഷ്യം സദാകാലം വെച്ചുകൊൾകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കയാൽ, ഞാൻ ശിക്ഷ മടക്കിക്കളകയില്ല.

1:11. This is what the LORD says: "Because Edom has committed three crimes— make that four!— I will not revoke my decree of judgment. He chased his brother with a sword; he wiped out his allies. In his anger he tore them apart without stopping to rest; in his fury he relentlessly attacked them.

1:11. This is what the LORD says: "The people of Edom have sinned again and again, and I will not let them go unpunished! They chased down their relatives, the Israelites, with swords, showing them no mercy. In their rage, they slashed them continually and were unrelenting in their anger.

1:11. Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:

1:11. This is what the Lord says: "I will definitely punish the people of Edom for the many crimes they did. Edom chased his brother (Israel) with the sword. Edom showed no mercy. Edom's anger continued forever—he kept tearing and tearing at Israel like a wild animal.
