23:16. ആരെങ്കിലും മന്ദിരത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്താൽ ഏതുമില്ല എന്നും മന്ദിരത്തിലെ സ്വർണ്ണത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവനോ കടക്കാരൻ എന്നും പറയുന്ന കുരുടന്മാരായ വഴികാട്ടികളേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം.

23:16. "Woe to you, blind guides, who say, 'Whoever swears by the temple is bound by nothing. But whoever swears by the gold of the temple is bound by the oath.'

23:16. "Blind guides! What sorrow awaits you! For you say that it means nothing to swear 'by God's Temple,' but that it is binding to swear 'by the gold in the Temple.'

23:16. Woe unto you, ye blind guides, that say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor.
