22:28. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞതു: നാളെ അവർ നമ്മോടോ നമ്മുടെ സന്തതികളോടോ അങ്ങനെ പറയുമ്പോൾ: ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നല്ല ഹനനയാഗത്തിന്നുമല്ല ഞങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങൾക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ സാക്ഷിയായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ഉണ്ടാക്കീട്ടുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിരൂപം കാണ്മിൻ എന്നു മറുപടി പറവാൻ ഇടയാകും.

22:28. We said, 'If in the future they say such a thing to us or to our descendants, we will reply, "See the model of the LORD's altar that our ancestors made, not for burnt offerings or sacrifices, but as a reminder to us and you."'

22:28. "If they say this, our descendants can reply, 'Look at this copy of the LORD's altar that our ancestors made. It is not for burnt offerings or sacrifices; it is a reminder of the relationship both of us have with the LORD.'

22:28. Therefore said we, It shall be, when they so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we shall say, Behold the pattern of the altar of Jehovah, which our fathers made, not for burnt-offering, nor for sacrifice; but it is a witness between us and you.

22:28. And we thought, If this should be said to us or to our descendants in time to come, we should say, 'Behold, the copy of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifice, but to be a witness between us and you.'

22:28. Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say [again,] Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it [is] a witness between us and you.

22:28. And we thought, If this should be said to us or to our descendants in time to come, we should say, `Behold the copy of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifice, but to be a witness between us and you.'

22:28. Therefore said we, It shall be, when they so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we shall say, Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice; but it is a witness between us and you.

22:28. `And we say, And it hath been, when they say [so] unto us, and unto our generations hereafter, that we have said, See the pattern of the altar of Jehovah, which our fathers made -- not for burnt-offering nor for sacrifice -- but a witness it [is] between us and you.

22:28. In the future, if it happens that your children say that we don't belong to Israel, then our children can say, 'Look, our fathers who lived before us made an altar. That altar is exactly like the Lord's altar {at the Holy Tent}. We don't use this altar for sacrifices—this altar is proof that we are part of Israel.'

22:28. Therefore said we, It shall be, when they so tell us or to our generations in time to come, that we shall say, Behold the pattern of the altar of Yahweh, which our fathers made, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice; but it is a witness between us and you.

22:28.
