8:29. ഹായിരാജാവിനെ അവൻ സന്ധ്യവരെ ഒരു മരത്തിൽ തൂക്കി; സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിച്ചപ്പോൾ യോശുവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം ശവം മരത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറക്കി പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കൽ ഇടുകയും അതിന്മേൽ ഇന്നുവരെ നില്ക്കുന്ന ഒരു വലിയ കൽക്കുന്നു കൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

8:29. He hung the king of Ai on a tree, leaving him exposed until evening. At sunset Joshua ordered that his corpse be taken down from the tree. They threw it down at the entrance of the city gate and erected over it a large pile of stones (it remains to this very day).

8:29. Joshua impaled the king of Ai on a sharpened pole and left him there until evening. At sunset the Israelites took down the body, as Joshua commanded, and threw it in front of the town gate. They piled a great heap of stones over him that can still be seen today.

8:29. And the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until the eventide: and at the going down of the sun Joshua commanded, and they took his body down from the tree, and cast it at the entrance of the gate of the city, and raised thereon a great heap of stones, unto this day.

8:29. Joshua hanged the king of Ai on a tree and left him hanging there until evening. At sunset, Joshua told his men to take the king's body down from the tree. They threw his body down at the city gate. Then they covered the body with many rocks. That pile of rocks is still there today.
