1:33. നഫ്താലി ബേത്ത്--ശേമെശിലും ബേത്ത്--അനാത്തിലും പാർത്തിരുന്നവരെ നീക്കിക്കളയാതെ ദേശനിവാസികളായ കനാന്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ പാർത്തു; എന്നാൽ ബേത്ത്--ശേമെശിലെയും ബേത്ത്--അനാത്തിലെയും നിവാസികൾ അവർക്കു ഊഴിയവേലക്കാരായിത്തിർന്നു.

1:33. The men of Naphtali did not conquer the people living in Beth Shemesh or Beth Anath. They live among the Canaanites residing in the land. The Canaanites living in Beth Shemesh and Beth Anath were forced to do hard labor for them.

1:33. Likewise, the tribe of Naphtali failed to drive out the residents of Beth-shemesh and Beth-anath. Instead, they moved in among the Canaanites, who controlled the land. Nevertheless, the people of Beth-shemesh and Beth-anath were forced to work as slaves for the people of Naphtali.

1:33. Naphtali drove not out the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh, nor the inhabitants of Beth-anath; but he dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: nevertheless the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh and of Beth-anath became subject to taskwork.
